Udinese have been ordered to play a Serie A game behind closed doors after Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan was racially abused on Saturday night.
The FIGC Sport Judge has ruled that Udinese must play their next home Serie A game behind closed doors following racist abuse aimed at Milan keeper Maignan on Saturday.
This means none of their fans will be allowed in the next league game at the Blue Energy Stadium on February 3, 2024, against Raffaele Palladino’s Monza.
The Sports Judge highlighted in an official statement that racist abuse caused the game to be suspended twice, first for one minute and then for five minutes.
Racist abuse came mainly from members of Udinese ultras in the Curva Sud, but the Judge noted that other fans in other sectors of the stadium had not distanced themselves from what was going on.
Nevertheless, Udinese immediately made themselves available to identify those responsible and a person has already been banned from life for their stadium.
