Tottenham signing Udogie trusts he ‘will improve with Conte’

Destiny Udogie has flown out for his Tottenham Hotspur medical and the Udinese man assures he is ‘convinced I can improve further with Antonio Conte.’

The wing-back will move for €18m plus another €7m in add-ons, but the decision is also to leave him on loan in Udine for the rest of the 2022-23 season.

He did not participate in last night’s 4-2 Serie A defeat to Milan, officially due to a slight muscular problem.

Spotted at the airport this afternoon, Udogie told reporters including Tuttomercatoweb why he was making the transfer to London.

“I am very happy. It’s a great sensation going to the Premier League, working with Conte and signing for Tottenham.

“I am convinced that I can improve further with Conte. For now, it is also important to return to Udinese on loan, as I want to have a good season.”

The 19-year-old is an Italy Under-21 international, born in Verona to Nigerian parents.

He was accompanied on the flight to London by intermediary Gianluca Di Carlo, agents Stefano Antonelli and Ferdinando Guarino.
