Serie A side Torino have expressed an interest in signing young attacking midfielder Nicola Bellomo.

The Granata, who will again be fighting to avoid relegation, have met with agent Davide Lippi over the last 48 hours to discuss the player’s future.

The 22-year-old spent last season in Serie B with Bari, but he’s co-owned with top-flight outfit Chievo Verona.

Bari and Chievo renewed their co-ownership of the Italian earlier this month, but the Stadio San Nicola club haven’t ruled out his sale.

“At this moment in time, Bellomo has returned to Chievo,” Bari sporting director Guido Angelozzi commented.

“However, from July 1, we will be in a position to sell our 50 per cent of his contract. There are offers for him and we will evaluate them.”

Bellomo, six goals in 35 games for Bari last season, was linked with possible January moves to Roma and Inter.
