Theo Hernandez on Brahim Diaz dance and Milan maturity

Theo Hernandez jokes his celebratory dance with Brahim Diaz was even better than the goal or assist, as Milan showed against Venezia they have matured into real Scudetto contenders.

The Rossoneri took a while to break down the Venezia defensive approach, but achieved it when Theo Hernandez volleyed the Ismael Bennacer pass across the six-yard box for Brahim Diaz.

Theo Hernandez then got the second himself, assisted by another substitute, Alexis Saelemaekers.

Speaking to DAZN, the France international was asked what was his best contribution to the game: the assist, the goal or the celebratory dance with Brahim Diaz.

“All three! The most enjoyable part was the dance with Brahim Diaz!” grinned Theo Hernandez.

“He said in the locker room that he wanted to do this dance when he scored a goal, so I got a goal and assist, we did it together.

“Bennacer’s pass is as good as a goal, it was a wonderful ball.”

Milan struggled to break Venezia down and Niki Maenpaa didn’t really have any saves to make before that Brahim Diaz goal.

“We know Venezia are difficult to face, the coach made three changes that completely transformed the game.”

It was precisely in games like this last season that Milan wasted chances and fell away towards the end of the season, losing the title to Inter.

Have the Rossoneri learned from those errors and become a more mature proposition this term?

“We realised that we have to win every game and none are easy. We want to win the Scudetto,” concluded Theo.
