Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has closed the door on Milan’s pursuit of Carlos Tevez and Edin Dzeko.

The Rossoneri want one of the City strikers to replace Paris-Saint Germain-bound Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but may now find a deal hard to come by.

The agents of both players are expected in Italy this week to discuss a transfer with Milan’s hierarchy, but now Mancini has reiterated his desire for the pair to stay.

“These two will remain,” the former Bologna, Lazio” data-scaytid=”11″>Lazio and Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”12″>Sampdoria forward said. “They are my strikers and are part of my plans. There is an important project here.”

Mancini’s stance on Tevez and Dzeko could change if City pull off a big-money swoop for Robin Van Persie.

Signing the Arsenal forward could mean that one City striker is surplus to requirements so Milan could bide their time before making a bid.
