Suso: ‘Hardest pre-season’

Milan winger Suso admits “it’s been one of the hardest pre-seasons I can remember”, thanks to Coach Gennaro Gattuso.

The Rossoneri have been warming up for the new season with a tour of the U.S.A, but there’s plenty of hard working going on on the training ground.

The Rossoneri have been warming up for the new season with a tour of the U.S.A, but there’s plenty of hard working going on on the training ground.

“The truth is that there’s a lot of focus on the physical side,” Suso told Marca.

“I noticed the change when I arrived [in Italy], physically and tactically they work a lot more than in Spain or England. There are a lot more video sessions and sessions without the ball.

“Gattuso is a Coach who likes to play, but he also pays a great deal of attention to the physical side. It’s been one of the hardest pre-seasons I can remember.

“He has Milan DNA, and he transmits a lot of enthusiasm and passion for the club. We improved when he took over.

“In Italy I’ve improved tactically. I've been playing in Italy for three years and I've done very well.

“Italy, in terms of quality of life, is much better than England. It’s a lot like Spain, you eat well, you live well.

“I’m clear that Spain is my home though, and I’d like to enjoy Spanish football.”
