“Seydou Keita is out with a left ankle problem, then there’s Kostas Manolas with a knock to the foot that is giving him pain,” explained the Coach in his Press conference.

“Vasilis Torosidis, Alessandro Florenzi, Iago Falque, Salih Ucan and Norbert Gyomber are back.”

“Chievo have players who are specialists at the kind of campaign they want, which is to achieve safety comfortably. You can trust them.

“I remember when they were in Serie B under Alberto Malesani, a tactically intense team. I really liked them and under Rolando Maran they’ve modified a few things, albeit maintaining a 4-4-2 with diamond midfield.

“They will come here to play their game, as they are fearless against any opponent. Chievo are very difficult to beat, so character and quality give them something more.”

Roma are mathematically sure of a top three finish and two points behind Napoli, but only the top two go directly into the Champions League without a preliminary round.

“We are in third place and frankly that was almost impossible. Let’s underline that achievement first before discussing second, which would be a miracle.

“We have always worked for the impossible, raising the bar. Now we have created ourselves an opportunity, so the team will focus on this single objective. I saw a great attitude, as everyone wants to give their contribution. That’s pure joy for a Coach to see.

“Impossible things happen sometimes, just look at Claudio Ranieri and Leicester City.”
