The Giallorossi take on Sampdoria tomorrow, but the Coach won’t be making excessive changes for the match.

“There are three trophies in Italy, and tomorrow is an in-or-out game,” Spalletti warned in his pre-match Press conference.

“We can’t get anything wrong, we can’t do experiments. The players who have been out are just like those who have been in, which also brings us to the transfer market.

“The squad is a bit smaller, for the exact reason that everyone feels like a starter.

“Roma have to win, not for the sake of winning but for our fans, for the affection and feeling between us and them. Roma can’t think about the fixture list, but a continuous movement.

“If you train well today, you’ll do better tomorrow. A win here gives you the feeling that you can win the next one. Get this goal, because then you can get another one. It becomes a habit, perpetual motion.

“In Tuscany we have water mills, the more water there is the more energy you produce. So we’re not in a  position to say that tomorrow those who haven’t played much will play. Those who can bring us to a win will play.

“We need to operate with absolute seriousness for every second of our lives, you have to do that to grow and we’re on the right track.”

Sampdoria are 14 points clear of the relegation zone in Serie A, so can focus on the Coppa Italia, is that a worry?

“The fact that there are three teams who have been slightly cut adrift from the others allows them to be calm, and it’s an advantage for them.

“They don’t have a squad which is on the level of the strongest teams, but they’re not in danger in the League.

“Sampdoria have been admired by everyone for playing good football, and their Coach [Marco Giampaolo] has shown good things.

“Giampaolo is a great Coach and if the squad makes themselves available to him then we’ll see his value. We’ve already met this season, and Sampdoria caused us a lot of problems the first time.

“It will be a difficult match given the intensity of their diamond midfield, which offers continuous pressure on the man who has the ball.”
