It’s reported Clarence Seedorf will take over as Milan Coach on Thursday after Massimiliano Allegri’s dismissal. “I can’t say anything right now.”

Allegri was officially sacked this morning along with his staff and today’s training session was overseen by assistant manager Mauro Tassotti.

However, this is not believed to be a long-term solution and Seedorf is the hot favourite to take over, beating competition from current Primavera youth team boss Pippo Inzaghi.

“Sorry, but I can’t say anything right now. Ask my manager,” Seedorf told Radio RTL when asked about the rumours.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 37-year-old Dutchman will fly in to Milan on Thursday to begin his coaching career.

He is still playing in Brazil with Botafogo, but his representative Deborah Martin confirmed “there is a clause that allows him to leave the club at any time, without penalty, unless he was to go to play for another club.

“I would also like to point out that Seedorf now has all the credentials to train and took all the necessary steps in the Netherlands and Brazil.”

Botafogo technical director Sidnei Loureiro acknowledged that was the situation. “If Seedorf wanted to begin his coaching career, he wouldn’t need our all-clear. He could start now.”

Tassotti will be on the Milan bench for Wednesday’s Coppa Italia Round of 16 tie against Spezia.

There are also additional reports that Allegri’s dismissal and the arrival of Seedorf will convince goalkeeper Marco Amelia to withdraw his January transfer request.
