Roma to swap Baptista for Sculli?

Roma are interested in exchanging Julio Baptista for Genoa striker Giuseppe Sculli, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

Claudio Ranieri has been a long-term admirer of Sculli's ability to cover several roles in attack either in the middle or on the flanks.

He apparently made inquiries about signing the 29-year-old during the summer, only for Roma to pursue alternative targets.

Baptista is out of favour in the capital and Ranieri is keen to use him as collateral to bolster his options in the second half of the season.

Genoa have expressed an interest in the Brazil international, but it remains to be seen whether they'll give up Sculli in a straight swap.

Baptista has also recently generated interest from Malaga.

As of yet, however, a bid hasn't been forthcoming.
