It is said that the Stadio Olimpico side rejected a bid of around €20m from German club Wolfsburg for his services earlier this summer.

Now, Corriere Dello Sport say that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini wants to come close to matching the wages that Wolfsburg reportedly wanted to offer Destro – €3.5m per year.

However, the report also states that should the Bundesliga outfit improve their offer by between €5m and €8m, Sabatini would be forced to discuss selling the player.
