Roma ready to send improved bid to West Ham for Scamacca – report

Roma are reportedly ready to send an improved offer to West Ham to sign Gianluca Scamacca.

The Italy international confirmed his desire to work under José Mourinho in his latest interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, saying that Rome is his ‘home.’

However, the Serie A giants are only interested in a loan deal, while West Ham are looking for a permanent transfer for the ex-Sassuolo forward, who joined the Hammers for €36m last summer.

The Giallorossi’s first offer has been rejected and according to Calciomercato.com, director Tiago Pinto will soon send an improved bid for the Italian striker.

According to the report, Roma will raise the fee for their option to buy at the end of the season, but West Ham hope to include an obligation to buy which will be activated if the Giallorossi qualify for the Champions League.

Scamacca is Roma’s primary target in attack to replace Tammy Abraham, who will remain out of action for several months after a severe knee injury suffered in the final match of 2022-23 against Spezia.
