Roma prepare contract extension offer for Zaniolo

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma director Tiago Pinto will sit down with Nicolò Zaniolo’s agent in February to begin contract extension talks.

Zaniolo could become Roma’s highest earner after Lorenzo Pellegrini and Tammy Abraham. The Italy international has recently signed a new €5m-a-year deal, while Abraham gets €4.5m, but could reach €6m with performance-related bonuses.

Zaniolo’s €2.5m-a-year deal expires in 2024 and the Giallorossi will soon begin negotiations with his agent Claudio Vigorelli.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are preparing a new €4m-a-year deal, including add-ons, expiring in June 2027.

Roma chiefs are convinced that Zaniolo and Abraham can play a key role in the club’s future and are therefore determined to find a new agreement with the Italy international.

Zaniolo joined Roma from Inter in a swap deal involving Radja Nainggolan in 2018.

He has scored four goals and delivered five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions this season.
