Roma on verge of signing Renato Sanches from PSG

Roma are now only a step away from signing Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Renato Sanches following the latest meeting.

The Giallorossi met with the Parisian giants yesterday to try and reach an agreement for the Portuguese midfielder, who has already spoken to Jose Mourinho and goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos.

Roma have been quiet in the transfer market since it opened last month, picking up just three players – Rasmus Kristensen, Evan Ndicka and Houssem Aouar. Crucially, star man Paulo Dybala looks set to stay in the Italian capital.

Page 12 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Roma have now agreed to the terms of a loan deal with PSG for Renato Sanches, who is expected to complete the move to the Italian capital in the coming days after returning from the pre-season tour in Japan.

A key factor that facilitated the move was the strong relationship with club presidents Dan Friedkin and Nasser Al-Khelaifi, as well as the conversations between the player and coaches Mourinho and Santos.

Renato Sanches was keen on the idea of playing in the Champions League but was convinced by the project in the Italian capital.
