Roma negotiate with Darboe amid interest from Tottenham and Fulham

Roma are reportedly in talks over a new deal with youngster Ebrima Darboe, as Tottenham and Fulham are interested in the midfielder.

The Gambia international has turned 20 and was picked up by Roma Youth in 2017 but recently signed a deal until June 2023.

Darboe made his debut in Serie A in a 2-0 defeat to Sampdoria in February 2021 and started the last four games in 2020-21.

The 20-year-old has impressed at Trigoria and contributed an assist in the 3-0 win over Zorya in the UEFA Europa Conference League last month, before starting the 2-0 win over Empoli in Serie A ahead of the international break.

Roma have identified the defensive midfielder as a key player for the future and have entered talks to extend his contract.

Tuttomercatoweb reports the Giallorossi are eager to tie him down to a new deal, as Fabio Paratici’s Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring his situation in the Italian capital.

Fulham are mentioned as another possible suitor from England and Roma are hoping to accelerate the operation to make sure the youngster stays.
