Roma may look to Monza’s Palladino in head coach search

Roma are looking around for long-term replacements for Daniele De Rossi and SportItalia claim Monza coach Raffaele Palladino could end up in the Italian capital.

The Giallorossi appointed their former midfielder as head coach earlier this month after dismissing Jose Mourinho, offering the Italian a six-month contract with a low salary. He is expected to leave the role in the summer, unless he really manages to impress over the next six months.

Roma are now considering a number of options to take over in the dugout in the summer, with some reports even claiming that the Friedkin family are dreaming of a move for Jurgen Klopp, who’ll leave Liverpool after nine years in the summer.

As reported by SportItalia, Roma are thinking about hiring Monza sporting director Francois Modesto to replace the outgoing Tiago Pinto, and Modesto is expected to put Palladino’s name forward as a possible option for the Giallorossi bench.

Should Palladino leave the Biancorossi, club CEO Adriano Galliani has already highlighted Genoa’s Alberto Gilardino as an interesting replacement. Another idea is Andrea Sottil, fresh from his Udinese exit.
