Roma increase Smalling offer

Roma have reportedly increased their offer for Chris Smalling to €15m plus €3m in bonuses, closing on Manchester United’s asking price.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs are in advanced negotiations to make his very successful loan into a permanent move to the Stadio Olimpico.

Manchester United are requesting €20m for the centre-back, whereas the Roma offer has now climbed to €15m plus another €3m in add-ons.

Smalling would put pen to paper on a five-year contract worth €3.2m per season.
