Ruggiero Rizzitelli believes that former club Bayern Munich will start their Champions League tie against Juventus as slight favourites.

The Italian spent two years with the outfit after his 1996 move from Torino and he’s looking forward to the two quarter-final encounters.

“If I had to give a percentage in terms of who will qualify, then I’d say Bayern had a 52 per cent chance and Juventus 48,” he told Tutto Juve.

“It will be a well balanced tie, but Bayern have the advantage of having played ties of this stature over the past few years.

“They are in the middle of a great cycle which has seen them take part in two Finals over the past three seasons.

“But Bayern and Juventus are both great teams, probably the strongest in the tournament if you take out Barcelona and Real Madrid.”

When asked how you go about beating Bayern, the former Roma man urged the Old Lady to attack with pace.

“Bayern are physically strong in defence, but slow. Juventus have to take advantage of the velocity of their forwards.

“Players like Mirko Vucinic and Sebastian Giovinco can do harm and could prove lethal.”
