Report: Juve press for Arthur

Juventus are reportedly rivalling Inter and Tottenham Hotspur for Barcelona midfielder Arthur.

Arthur has been linked with Inter and Spurs as a possible makeweight in deals to take Lautaro Martinez and Tanguy Ndombele to Camp Nou.

However, Mundo Deportivo claims Juve will ‘do everything possible’ to convince the Brazilian into a transfer.

The newspaper explains how he could be tempted by Maurizio Sarri’s passing philosophy and the prospect of only being taxed 30 percent.

As for the Bianconeri, they would be prepared to offer several players in exchange, with the coronavirus pandemic preventing them from splashing out.

RAC1 claims the Old Lady have already put forward Miralem Pjanic, but the Catalans are understood to prefer players ‘with more potential’ than the 30-year-old.

MD, meanwhile, writes Rodrigo Bentancur is their preferred target, but the Uruguayan has become a mainstay in Juve’s midfield this season and is contracted until 2024.

Other players who could move in the opposite direction, as per the publication, are Federico Bernardeschi, Mattia De Sciglio and Merih Demiral, although the ‘great dream’ remains Matthijs de Ligt.

In the eyes of Mundo Deportivo, the Dutchman ‘hasn’t shone’ in his first season for Juve and could yet join as part of a swap for Arthur.
