Roma youngster Bojan Krkic has asked for forgiveness after he was sent-off in Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Fiorentina.

The Spaniard was dismissed for a blatant handling offence on the goal-line and vented his frustration by throwing his jersey to the ground.

“I made a mistake,” he told La Repubblica. “I was in a part of the pitch that I am not accustomed to and I was betrayed by my instincts. I didn’t want us to concede a third goal.”

After Bojan became the third Roma player to be shown red in Florence, he then angered fans further by launching his jersey.

“I could have done without that gesture,” he continued. “I was just so angry at that moment. I’m only 21, give me time to grow and then you can massacre me.”

Roma and Bojan have had a problematic start to the campaign, but the forward, who arrived from Barcelona in the summer, has no regrets about his move to Rome.

“Tottenham, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain all wanted me,” he added. “But I came here with enthusiasm.

“I wanted to be a part of this squad and in the plans of new boss Luis Enrique. It was a well-pondered move and one which I wanted.”
