Rebic adds to Milan injury crisis

The Milan injury list is growing even longer, as Ante Rebic limped off with a muscular problem against Hellas Verona.

The Croatia international had been their best player of the night so far at San Siro until he suddenly pulled up with a muscular issue.

He made way for Rafael Leao just 36 minutes into the Serie A match, with his team 2-0 down.

Rebic contributed two goals and two assists in nine competitive appearances so far this season between Serie A and the Champions League.

According to Calciomercato.com, Rebic already had a problem with his heel during training this week, so it could be a tight Achilles tendon.

The Rossoneri were already without Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz after they tested positive for COVID-19 this week.

Goalkeeper Mike Maignan has been ruled out for three months by wrist surgery, with third-choice goalkeeper Alessandro Plizzari sidelined until January by a knee ligament tear.

Alessandro Florenzi, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Junior Messias are all on the treatment table.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is back on the bench for only the second time this season, while Olivier Giroud returned to the starting XI.
