“Their philosophy has changed this season. There was a certain type of approach with Jose Mourinho, another under Rafa Benitez and now a new one again thanks to Leonardo. It is a very important match, we are fighting with the other teams for the Scudetto and are fighting to win.”
Philippe Mexes is suspended, David Pizarro injured and captain Totti in bed with a fever.
“We are determined and going there to take the initiative. Without Totti the trident attack in the system used against Brescia will not be possible.
“I have to decide who will start in attack. If one from Mirko Vucinic, Marco Borriello and Jeremy Menez starts from the bench, then it gives me extra options as the game goes on.
“Inter improved their strength in depth with the arrival of Giampaolo Pazzini and Houssine Kharja, who have already scored.”
Roma need to get back on track after their 1-1 draw with Brescia, which followed on from the 2-1 defeat earlier this season.
“We have dropped points where we shouldn't have, but also picked them up elsewhere. That is Roma's Achilles Heel. I don't know why we slip up in the so-called easier games, as if I did then we'd have resolved the problem by now.”
The Giallorossi also look to the future, as negotiations begin exclusively with American Thomas DiBenedetto on the takeover of the club.
“We are concentrated on what we have to do on the field. I cannot say anything, nor will stick my nose in. Besides, I'm like a doubting Thomas, as I only believe it when I see it.”
