PSG could drop Milan target Renato Sanches

There could be some good news for Milan, as PSG have reportedly started talks for RC Lens midfielder Seko Fofana, leaving behind LOSC star Renato Sanches.

The Rossoneri thought they had Sanches in the bag after agreeing personal terms with the Portugal international many weeks ago, but found working out a transfer fee with Lille considerably more difficult.

That became even more complicated when Paris Saint-Germain dived in with an approach for Sanches that would pay considerably more than Milan’s €15m plus add-ons.

However, this evening L’Equipe suggest that PSG have now started negotiations with Ligue 1 side Lens for Fofana.

He would be an alternative to Sanches, a 27-year-old Ivory Coast international who impressed this season with 10 goals and two assists in 41 competitive appearances.

Fofana was at Udinese from 2016 to 2020, when sold to Lens for €8.5m, and that price-tag has now almost tripled thanks to his performances in Ligue 1.

This news comes on the day Milan directors met with the representatives of Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, their alternative to Renato Sanches.
