Probable line-ups: Lecce vs. Inter – Gosens and Lukaku start

Robin Gosens and Romelu Lukaku are expected to start in Inter‘s first game of the season against Lecce at the Stadio Via Del Mare tonight.

It kicks off at 19.45 UK time. The Stadio Via Del Mare is sold out with over 23,000 expected in the stands, including circa 1,000 from Milan.

Marco Baroni’s side seems to lack Serie A experience but has signed Assan Ceesay from Feyenoord this summer. The Gambia international was last season’s best scorer in the Conference League and is favourite to start over Milan loanee Lorenzo Colombo.

Mert Cetin is not fully fit but should be able to start in defence.

Only Danilo D’Ambrosio is injured and out of action for Inter. Simone Inzaghi’s team is quite similar to last season, except for Lukaku and Gosens, who will be the regular starter on the left after Ivan Perisic’s move to Tottenham.

Inter are unbeaten in the last 11 debut games against newly-promoted clubs. The Nerazzurri are the team with the most shots (348) and shots on target (127) in Serie A in 2022.
