Pogba hoping to bounce back with Juventus after injury scare

Medical tests confirmed that Paul Pogba avoided a serious muscle injury and the Frenchman is now hoping to play in Juventus’ upcoming clash with Lazio.

The 30-year-old midfielder, whose second spell in Turin has been entirely derailed by a multitude of injuries, suffered a muscle twinge in the 2-0 win over Empoli last weekend, immediately causing fears that he could be sidelined for weeks with another physical issue.

Pogba underwent a round of medical tests at the start of this week which confirmed that no major muscle injury had occurred, and he’s quietly been working on his recovery in Continassa ever since.

Page 17 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Pogba is aiming to take part in Juventus’ first game back after the international break, when they’ll face Lazio on September 16.

Massimiliano Allegri will make his final decision in the days before the game, but is unlikely to take any risks considering the Frenchman’s recent injury history and the busy schedule ahead of the Bianconeri.
