Pioli and Milan don’t feel pressure, Fiorentina lose Bonaventura

Stefano Pioli reveals what he told Malick Thiaw and why Milan must not feel the pressure after other results, while Fiorentina lose Giacomo Bonaventura in the warm-up.

It kicks off at San Siro at 17.00 GMT.

“Fiorentina are very motivated, going through a good period of form, but what matters far more is what we manage to do,” Pioli told DAZN.

The Viola have won five consecutive games between Serie A and the Conference League, but lost Bonaventura to injury in the warm-up, so Antonin Barak starts instead.

Summer signing Thiaw gets his second start for Milan after playing midweek against Cremonese.

“He is a strong player, tall and physical, can emerge from defence with the ball, so I told him to play the way he knows how and be relaxed, because he’s done everything he needed to be ready.”

Napoli and Inter already won, so does that put the pressure on Milan going into this game?

“We must only focus on ourselves and do the very best we can. When we raise the level of our performance, then we are a great team.”
