Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is already back in training at Trigoria after a disappointing week away with the Italy national team, where he was sent off in the second half of Thursday’s Nations League match against Belgium.

Italy had been two goals up at the time of Pellegrini’s dismissal, but then had to settle for a 2-2 draw after battling for close to an hour with just 10 men. The Giallorossi skipper is suspended for Monday’s game against Israel and has since left Luciano Spalletti’s training camp.

Pellegrini back training with Roma after Italy shocker

Pictures released by Corriere dello Sport show that the 28-year-old is already back in training with Ivan Juric in the capital.

It was a very small group that trained for Roma on Thursday, as many of the first team squad are away on international duty.

In positive news for Juric and his staff, summer signing Enzo Le Fee returned to the group, while the likes of Mats Hummels and Matias Soule got important training minutes under their belts.
