Parma have announced that World Cup winner Gianluigi Buffon has tested positive for COVID-19.
The entire matchday squad was tested ahead of the return to training following the Christmas break.
Buffon is the only player so far to have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Stadio Tardini side.
The goalkeeper, who turns 44 later this month, is self-isolating at home and has not been in contact with the rest of the squad.
Serie B was meant to play two rounds over the Christmas period, but they were postponed by the Lega Calcio after large number of positive COVID-19 tests in the division.
Buffon has made 18 Serie B appearances for Parma so far this season, keeping six clean sheets and saving three penalties.
His career began at the Parma youth academy and he made his Serie A debut for the club at the age of 17, but returned to the Tardini this season as a free agent after his time at Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
