Parma attempted Giovinco deal

Parma reportedly tried to bring back Sebastian Giovinco at the end of the January transfer window, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Gialloblu have been hit with an injury crisis up front, with Roberto Inglese out for several months.

Gervinho was also set for a move to Qatari side Al Sadd.

With talks over that move progressing, La Gazzetta journalist Nicolo Schira states that Parma talked to Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal about bringing back former Gialloblu player Giovinco back to the club.

Giovinco played for the Gialloblu from 2010-2012 before returning to Juventus. However Schira states that the breakdown of Gervinho’s move to Al Sadd meant that the deal didn’t transpire.

The Atomic Ant, as Giovinco is known, hasn't played in Italy since leaving Juve in 2015, with spells in Canada and the Middle East.
