Sampdoria chief Riccardo Garrone has suggested that his club will sell Angelo Palombo during the January transfer window.

The Serie B outfit’s sporting director, Pasquale Sensibile, last night opened the door for a New Year switch and Garrone has added more fuel to the fire this afternoon.

“Angelo is wanted by a lot of teams and he deserves to play for a big club,” the Doria President told Sky Sport Italia.

“He’s not having the best time right now, but we still believe in him and you have to remember everything that he has done for us.”

The Italian international and club captain stayed loyal to the outfit following their relegation from Serie A last term.

However, he’s not even been guaranteed a starting shirt at Marassi this season and it’s understood that the club would like to get him off the wage bill.

Serie A sides Juventus, Fiorentina and Udinese are all interested in the 30-year-old.
