Official: Torino sack Mihajlovic

Torino have officially confirmed they have sacked Sinisa Mihajlovic following last night’s Coppa Italia defeat to Juventus.

It was reported after the game that the Serbian had been sacked, and Attilio Lombardo took the post-match Press conference.

A group of players went to see their Coach in his hotel last night to affirm that the squad was still behind him, but the decision had already been taken and now the Granata have confirmed his dismissal.

“Torino Football Club announces that it has sacked Sinisa Mihajlovic as Coach of the first team,” a statement on the club’s official website reads.

"Sinisa and his staff are thanked for thire commitment and passion shown in these 18 months in Granata."

His replacement is expected to be former Napoli and Inter Coach Walter Mazzarri.

He has been out of work since his dismissal by Watford in the summer, but has agreed a contract with Toro until 2020.
