Juventus confirm their midfield star Teun Koopmeiners has suffered a slightly dislocated second right anterior rib fracture, and his recovery will be ‘evaluated according to his symptoms.’

Koopmeiners withdrew from the Netherlands national team for the international break in October due to an injury. Juventus have now clarified the nature of Koopmeiners’ issue as the Dutch midfielder underwent tests in Turin Thursday morning.

Juventus confirm Koopmeiners injury – The official statement

“Teun Koopmeiners, following the persistence of the painful symptoms experienced at the end of the first half of the match against Cagliari, underwent diagnostic examinations this morning at J|Medical that showed the presence of a slightly dislocated fracture of the second right anterior rib,” the Old Lady said in a statement.

“The player will undergo the appropriate therapy and his recovery will be evaluated according to his symptoms.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, this means Koopmeiners will surely miss the next Serie A game against Lazio at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

The Serie A giants have three key games right after the break. After Lazio, they’ll meet Stuttgart in the Champions League and Inter in Serie A.

Tuttosport reported on Wednesday that Koopmeiners is a doubt for all of Juventus’ next three games.

In August, Koopmeiners joined Juventus on a permanent €51.3m deal, plus add-ons from Atalanta. He has provided one assist in seven appearances with the Bianconeri this term.
