Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano has dropped Sofyan Amrabat for Wednesday’s Coppa Italia match with Torino.
The Morocco international is pushing to join Barcelona in the January transfer window. He didn’t show up for training on Tuesday morning and dropped a transfer hint on social media suggesting that he wants to leave the Stadio Franchi.
The Tuscans face Torino in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Wednesday and Amrabat has not been included in the team to face the Granata tomorrow.
Fiorentina have just released their squad list for tomorrow’s match, confirming that the 27-year-old won’t be available.
The Morocco international, who shined at the World Cup in Qatar and led his national team to a historic fourth place, has played 25 games with Fiorentina this season.
La Viola don’t want to sell in January, especially under Barcelona’s conditions who have made a loan offer with an option to buy.
Amrabat joined the Tuscans on a permanent €20m deal in 2020 and his current deal at the Stadio Franchi expires in the summer of 2024, but the club has an option to extend his stay by one more season.
