Official: EDF stays at Sassuolo

Eusebio Di Francesco has officially extended his Sassuolo contract to June 2019, ending Milan, Fiorentina and Italy speculation.

The Coach had been considering his situation amid interest from top Serie A clubs, plus a potential future on the Azzurri bench to replace Antonio Conte after Euro 2016.

However, this evening Sassuolo released a statement confirming Di Francesco had signed the new contract.

However, this evening Sassuolo released a statement confirming Di Francesco had signed the new contract.

“This agreement confirms the desire of both parties to continue the journey that seen the club grow constantly over these four years and the conviction we can be protagonists in future too.

“The project continues, together, to grow and improve. Forza Sasol!!!”

Sassuolo have already equalled their club record of 49 Serie A points in a single season, even though there are another four rounds left to play.
