Charles De Ketelaere has finally completed his transfer from Club Brugge to Milan, their most expensive signing of this era.
He will wear the Number 90 jersey and signed a contract until June 2027, where he is expected to earn €2.2m per season.
The negotiations dragged on all summer and seemed on the verge of collapse at times, but a deal was at last done for €32m plus €3m in bonuses and a 12.5 per cent cut of the future transfer fee.
The 21-year-old Belgium international flew in last night from Brussels and had his medical tests today before signing the five-year contract at the Casa Milan headquarters.
At €35m, De Ketelaere is the most expensive signing Milan have made with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara as directors.
De Ketelaere plays primarily as a trequartista – behind the strikers – or attacking midfielder, but he can also play as a False 9 or in wider roles.
He made his senior debut for Belgium in November 2020, securing eight caps and one goal.
