Official: Claudio Chiellini returns to Juventus

Claudio Chiellini, brother of former Juventus and Italy defender Giorgio, has returned to the Allianz Stadium as the Head of Next Gen Area.

The Bianconeri confirmed Chiellini’s return on Thursday with an official statement.

“Chiellini will become the Head of Next Gen Area as of 1 July. After serving as Pisa sporting director in Serie B for two seasons, Chiellini’s return picks up his journey with the Bianconeri that began in 2014 and ended in June 2021,” Juventus said.

“In his two seasons with Pisa, the Tuscan club finished in third place in the second division, but the dream of promotion ended at the last step, in the play-off final against Monza after extra time; while last season they finished 11th, two points from the play-off zone.

“Now his return to Juventus to take charge of a key asset for the club, Next Gen, a project he witnessed the birth of and which he was Team Coordinator of for three seasons, the first years of its existence.

“In his first Juventus experience, in addition to the work with the second team, he also oversaw the coordination of players on loan, first in the role of On Loan Players Coordinator then as On Loan Players Manager. So, he is preparing to launch himself in this new position as a profound connoisseur of the Juventus world.

Chiellini will be in charge of Juventus B team, called NextGen, playing in Italy’s third division Serie C. The previous director was Giovanni Manna who has now been promoted to the senior team.
