Roma have officially announced the arrival of Iranian striker Sardar Azmoun, who has joined from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Giallorossi have reportedly agreed a loan deal with a €12m buy option attached with the Bundesliga side, adding a key reinforcement to Jose Mourinho’s frontline.
Roma have been in the market for a new centre forward for months now following the serious injury suffered by Tammy Abraham, and they’re also working on a deal for Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku.
The Roman side officially announced Azmoun’s arrival today with a stylish video, confirming that the 28-year-old will wear the number 17 shirt in the Italian capital.
During his 18-month spell with Bayer Leverkusen, Azmoun scored five goals and provided five assists in 44 total appearances, working best as a supporting second striker.
Azmoun has become Roma’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window following Evan Ndicka, Houssem Aouar, Renato Sanches, Leandro Paredes and Rasmus Kristensen.
