‘No Roma, I’ll respect Venezia’

Giorgio Perinetti insists he would not join Azzurri Coach Antonio Conte in a move to Roma next summer.

Reports that Conte is open to a move to the Giallorossi and that he would bring the Venezia sporting director with him were followed by denials by Perinetti himself.

More statements by the Serie D club director are now emerging, in which he swears loyalty to his current team.

“I have a three-year contract with Venezia FC and I intend to honour it,” he told Pagineromaniste.com. “I believe in [chairman and owner] Joe Tacopina's project and I'm sure we'll be able to reach important objectives together.

“I don't know how certain rumours could have emerged, I don't know Conte's future and I've had no contacts with the directors at Roma.”

Perinetti did declare in March 2015, a few months before signing with Venezia, that he would love to work with Roma again as that was the city he was born and grew up in.
