History suggests that a share of the spoils is unlikely, as there hasn’t been a draw in this fixture in over 20 years.

In Week 9 of the 1996-97 season, Roy Hodgson’s Inter were held to a 2-2 draw by Claudio Ranieri’s Fiorentina, with Luis Oliveira bagging a brace for the visitors; and Paul Ince and Maurizio Ganz scoring for the Beneamata.

Since then there have been 19 games at San Siro without a draw, 16 wins for the home side and three for the Florentines.

The Viola’s last win was a 4-1 triumph three years ago, which also came in Week 6 of Serie A.

Inter are still looking for their first home win of the season, but have won 47 of the 80 meetings between these sides in Milan, losing just 15.
