Napoli rejected for Rojo, Rugani

Napoli have reportedly been rebuffed for their primary defensive targets, Daniele Rugani and Marcos Rojo.

The Partenopei are seeking reinforcements at the back, and were keen to bring Juventus’ Rugani, with Coach Maurizio Sarri having developed him at Empoli.

However, with the Bianconeri repeatedly making it clear that the centre-back is not for sale, Tuttomercatoweb reports that Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo was considered.

Following an injury to Luke Shaw though, the Red Devils are short of cover on the left-side of defence, and the website reports that manager Louis Van Gaal is not willing to lose Rojo.

The Argentinian international had been out of favour at Old Trafford, but returned to the starting XI for the weekend win over Everton.
