Mixed reports over Berardi link with Lazio

There are mixed reports on the future of Domenico Berardi, as while some sources believe he is on the verge of joining Lazio, others insist he won’t leave Sassuolo.

The captain seems to be in the balance every single transfer window and yet always remains at the club where he spent his entire career.

That may well be developing again, with mixed reports even from the same company.

Sportitalia writer Rudy Galetti maintains the deal is practically done for a switch to Lazio for €20m.

However, the chief of Sportitalia – Alfredo Pedullà – insists this evening there has been no direct contact between the clubs at all.

Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio also assures there is no real discussion between them, even if Maurizio Sarri likes the player.

Even after qualifying for the Champions League, Lazio would still not be in a position to spend €20m on anyone right now, as they must sell before bringing in anyone new.

Fiorentina are also interested in Berardi, but again would not be prepared to pay the €20m asking price.
