Milan’s first away defeat since Atalanta

Milan have suffered their first away defeat in Serie A in over a year, as the loss to Spezia was their first since Atalanta in December 2019.

The Rossoneri were completely over-run at the Stadio Alberto Picco this evening, with Giulio Maggiore and Simone Bastoni goals.

It was the first time Stefano Pioli’s men had lost on their travels in the league since the infamous 5-0 hammering at the hands of Atalanta on December 22, 2019.

That is a gap of over 400 days, almost 14 months.

It also represented only Spezia’s fifth clean sheet in their debut Serie A season.
