A report in Spanish outlet AS alleges that officials from the Rossoneri recently held talks with the tactician’s own entourage to try to work out a way that the two parties could work together in the future.

Guardiola is currently taking a sabbatical from the game, after four years in charge of Barcelona, in which time he won 14 major trophies.

There was speculation towards the end of last season that the Rossoneri were also considering the future of Massimiliano Allegri, despite his only recently-signed new contract with the club.

Guardiola has also been linked with Chelsea and Bayern Munich in recent days.
