Milan optimistic ahead of Tonali medical tests

Milan are reportedly optimistic about Sandro Tonali’s condition following the injury he suffered in yesterday’s friendly against Vicenza.

The 22-year-old Italian midfielder painfully limped off the pitch in the second half of the Rossoneri’s 6-1 win over Vicenza yesterday, having seemingly suffered a groin or adductor strain. Initially, there were concerns that Tonali could be sidelined for up to a month, pushing Milan to schedule some medical tests.

As reported by MilanNews.it, the Milan medical staff are feeling optimistic about Tonali’s condition and they’re not too concerned about the injury heading into tomorrow’s tests. The 22-year-old is calm himself, suggesting that things might not be as serious as first feared.

The Rossoneri are also confident that Junior Messias’ condition is better than first expected, although tests will confirm or deny this tomorrow.

With Milan’s Serie A season kicking off against Udinese on August 13, they’ll be hoping to recover as much of their squad as possible in time.
