Milan meet UEFA to avoid Financial Fair Play sanctions

Milan directors are currently in Nyon to discuss the club’s Financial Fair Play situation with UEFA and avoid possible sanctions.

The meeting was supposed to take place a long time ago but had always been postponed because of the COVID pandemic. It was due to occur after Elliott took over from Younghong Li.

Milan directors Ivan Gazidis and Giorgio Furlani, who represents Elliott, will meet the Club Financial Control Body members and, following the hearing and the analysis of Milan’s finances and parameters, UEFA will make a decision regarding possible sanctions for the Rossoneri.

Milan were banned from European competitions in 2019 following irregularities in 2014-17, during different ownership. Rossoneri directors hope to avoid sanctions this time. According to SportMediaset, UEFA appreciates Milan’s new sustainable course. Financial losses have been reduced over the last few years, although results are still not in line with the FFP rules.

Nevertheless, Milan directors are confident of avoiding sanctions also in light of the new Financial Fair Play reform, which will be completed by the end of the season.
