Milan interested in Renato Sanches ahead of the summer transfer window

Milan are in the running for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

The Rossoneri are looking to continue building their young and strong squad, with the club’s directors currently working on signing a new central defender in this month’s window in order to replace the injured Simon Kjaer. The Milanese club are currently in talks with Lille for Sven Botman and now Sanches’ name has been brought up.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan are seriously interested in Sanches as a possible replacement for Franck Kessie, who is likely to leave the Lombardy capital at the end of this season.

The 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder’s contract with Lille expires in June 2023 and he is represented by super agent Jorge Mendes. The Rossoneri are already in talks with the Portuguese agent regarding a contract extension for Rafael Leao and Sanches could come up in the meeting as well.

The former Bayern Munich man would like to try a new challenge and he’s put Milan at the top of his list of preferences, despite the interest from several English and French clubs. Nothing concrete has occurred yet but things could seriously heat up over the coming months.
