Milan: Illarramendi or Moutinho

Milan have asked for Joao Moutinho of Monaco or Real Madrid’s Asier Illarramendi on loan.

Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport point to Illarramendi as the alternative to Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano.

They hope Real Madrid will release the player on loan so he can get more regular playing time.

Illarramendi has been heavily linked with a return to Real Sociedad, but Milan aim to make the most of their famously strong transfer bond with the Merengues.

Another option is Joao Moutinho, who could seek a new experience after Monaco crashed out of the Champions League play-offs to Valencia.

The Rossoneri already did business with Monaco this summer, selling them Stephan El Shaarawy.
