Milan goalkeeper Maignan not training with France

There are concerns for Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who did not take part in training with France today due to an Achilles tendon issue.

According to Le Parisien reporter Benjamin Quarez, the shot-stopper was not working with the rest of his teammates at the Claire Fontaine training camp today.

It is believed to be an Achilles tendon issue, and although nothing serious at this moment, it is still worth keeping an eye on.

Milan will hope that Maignan is rested during this break for international duty, as France have already qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

They are due to play the Ivory Coast in a friendly on Friday, then South Africa in another test next Tuesday.

He has only one senior cap for France, earned in October 2020.

Maignan already had one serious injury this season, requiring surgery on his wrist in October 2021, although he returned far quicker than anyone expected, out for only six weeks.
