Milan clubs to have face-to-face meeting over proposed San Siro referendum on Monday

The relevant directors from both Inter and Milan will meet with delegates from the local government to discuss the proposed referendum over the future of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the first face-to-face meeting on the matter on Monday afternoon.

Discussions in the meeting on Monday will supposedly cover the proposed referendum, whether the two clubs will be able to move forwards with plans for new stadiums and whether or not those plans will be acted on before the end of next season.

The Nerazzurri and Rossoneri are both still pushing for the referendum to decide upon their respective futures at San Siro and believe that if one is to take place, that it shouldn’t happen any later than this summer.

Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan, is not expected to participate in the meeting on Monday, having declared his disapproval of the proposed referendum.

However, the Referendum Committee, represented by Anna Camposampiero, Andrea Bonessa and Veronica Dini, as well as the board of trustees from the Palazzo Marino and representatives from the urban regeneration sector of the local government are all expected to be in attendance on Monday.
