Milan axe over Inzaghi

There are mixed reports over Pippo Inzaghi’s fate, as Milan could axe him today or wait until after Fiorentina.

The Coach is hanging in the balance after a 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona last night, a result that saw them once again fumble a lead in the closing stages.

Sport Mediaset claim President Silvio Berlusconi has lost patience with Inzaghi and was particularly infuriated by one substitution.

Inzaghi opted to replace centre-forward Giampaolo Pazzini with defender Salvatore Bocchetti when Milan were 2-1 up.

It was seen as an embarrassingly defensive move at San Siro and one that backfired spectacularly.

The likely candidates to take over would be current assistant manager Mauro Tassotti or Milan’s Primavera youth team tactician Cristian Brocchi.

While a dismissal could be announced over the next 24 hours, other reports suggest Milan will wait until after next Monday’s extremely difficult trip to on-form Fiorentina.
